The story
I grew up around here, and the businesses I know best are the ones you see on the side of a van on the A28. Roofers, fitters, detailers, instructors, the salon on the corner. People who are very good at the thing they do and have never had a spare afternoon to think about marketing.
What I kept noticing was not a shortage of customers. It was the opposite. Enquiries were arriving and quietly falling through the floor. A call that came in mid-job. A form on a website nobody checked. A quote sent on a Friday that nobody ever followed up because Monday came and the diary was full again.
That is the most expensive kind of lost money, because you already paid for it. You paid for it in the advert, in the referral, in the years of building a name locally. Losing it at the last step is the bit that stings.
So Xeroma does the unglamorous half. We build the website that asks for the job, run the ads that stay inside your patch, make sure a missed call gets a text back in seconds, and keep the follow-up going when you are too busy to remember. Then we show you, in plain numbers, what that changed.
Helping comes first, consistency second, money third. In that order, on purpose — and it is not a slogan, it is the order I make decisions in.
Helping first means the initial call is genuinely useful whether you hire me or not. I have talked people out of spending money with me more than once, because the thing they needed was a better phone setup and twenty minutes of their own time.
Consistency second, because one good month proves nothing. The businesses that grow steadily are the ones where enquiries get handled the same way on the chaotic weeks as the quiet ones. That is what a system is for.
Money third, because it should be the outcome, not the motive. If the work is not putting more in your pocket than it takes out, I have not earned it and I would rather know early.
The order things come in
The first call is us being useful, whether you hire us or not. You will leave it knowing something you did not know before.
One good month is luck. We build things that keep working on the weeks you are too busy to think about marketing.
It comes third on purpose. If the work is not putting more in your pocket than it takes out, we have not earned it.
What you can hold me to
Partnership means a few things are simply not up for negotiation.
Read these as promises rather than terms. They are the reasons people stay, and they cost me work sometimes.
- We will tell you if you do not need us, or not yet.
- You own your website, your ad account and your customer list. Always.
- No twelve-month contracts to keep you in when the work has stopped earning.
- Everything explained in words you would use yourself.
- If something breaks, you ring a person, not a ticket system.
Let's talk about your business
Come and tell me what is going wrong. I will be straight with you.
A conversation, not a sales call. If Xeroma is not the right fit I will say so and point you at something that is.
